I'm complete!

My computer is back online again. Got the motherboard back yesterday and, after a hour or so of rebuilding the case, I'm back up and running. It's been a long week without a computer. I definitely got more sleep because of no computer at night but that's going to change tonight, I think.

Dead computer

Well, it's official. My motherboard is toasted. My computer is in pieces and the motherboard is being sent in for replacement. I don't know what I'm going to do for 2 weeks without a computer.

December competition

The camera club I'm in, Pixel Image Camera Club, voted one of my images into the December Digital Photography competition. It's one of my favorite abandoned photography shots. It's a little creepy and a little sad but still pretty cool.

Christmas shopping

Pam has decided to open up an online shop for my photography.

There's a collection of my photos that can be ordered as prints or as greeting cards.

I'm way to lazy to do all of this myself but Pam insisted and just opened it for me. Now if people would just start ordering...(hint)

Video entry is done!

Well, it took a couple of really long nights but I completed it. My entry for the November DPI video competition is complete and up on YouTube. Everything in the video was shot with my Nikon D90 DSLR. I edited the video together in Adobe Premiere.

I think it turned out OK. I was struggling with what images to insert. The whole theme was nature and I wanted to use only macro images but I didn't have enough good (in my eyes, anyways) macro images to use. I ended up only using 2 or 3 non-macro images.

Video competition

This month's camera club competition is a little different. It's a video competition! This is right up my alley! I started shooting a bunch of video of nature (leaves blowing, trees, birds on the water). I'm going to intersperse some of my macro and nature shots with the video, drop some music in, and maybe some smart-sounding nature quotes. It only has to be a max of 3 minutes but 3 minutes is a LONG time for a short video. I am shooting for closer to 1-1/2 to 2 minutes MAX. I started compiling the clips and photos last night and I hope I have enough. Going to go out and shoot some clouds at lunch. Wish me luck!

Camera club

I went to my second Pixel Image Camera Club meeting today. I paid the dues and became an official member. Some very good and experienced photographers in the club, including my old high school band director Jerry Hug. We talked a bit and when he found out I was a video editor he went nuts. He wants me to demonstrate some video editing skills at one of the program days of the meetings.

Today people came up and showed off some of the equipment they used and some of their photos taken with them. Some pretty interesting things. The weird thing is I'm the youngest in the room by at least 10 years.

Amazing photographer/speaker

Just watched a Google+ talk by Trey Ratcliff. This guys' not only is an amazing photographer but he's also very smart and very well spoken. His talk really opened my eyes to photography and life. It's defiantly worth your time to check out his stuff.

Photo Walk 2011

Here's a couple of pics from last weekends World Wide Photo Walk at the Morton Arboretum. Andrew and Zoe loved looking at all the different hand-made scarecrows scattered around the walk.

Fall Colors

Well, here I am.

Here ya go. One more thing I can start doing and let wither away, like my long forgotten 365 project. I hope to keep this updated weekly (not weakly).
